Hang up your Flat Screen TV

Hang It Up

So you have bought that new house and now you are thinking of upgrading to a new HDTV flatscreen to your family room.

Flat screen TVs are all the rage, you see them everywhere!

  • Have you ever thought about the mounting of a flatscreen?

Contractors have gotten smart and are finally creating spaces  with property weight bearing specifications where TVs can be mounted in new homes and some have special pre-wiring flatscreen tv

You want to make sure that you have the proper placement and wiring for your HDTV to enjoy your entertainment investment!  Professional installation will make sure that it is done right and as products become more and more advanced, custom installation is the way to go.  It isn’t as easy as just hanging your plasma TV above the fireplace in your den.

HDTV’s are not light, the weight of the TV itself makes it a challenge to work with (I know because we just purchased one and it was heavy in the box!)  If I had to guess I would say probably 50 lbs for a 42″.  So needless to say we did not try to mount it ourselves!  Add that weight and a bracket you can’t just mount it on sheetrock drywall or plaster!  The professionals told me you should bolt the TV to the wall studs.tv mounting

That brings up another point….

  • When you sell your home how will the TV Mount be Removed?
  • Some Sellers will agree to leaving the TV (negotiated with the offer of course)

Have you noticed all the boxes that you need these days just to watch TV?  They all have to plug in somewhere and connect with your HDTV.  DVR, DVD, Cable, Wii  thats alot of wires! wires I am glad we had a professional to integrate it all.

Its nice to know all those gadgets can be configured so you only have to have one controller!
